About Me
The 25 year old started circuit racing in 2008, following in the distinguished footsteps of her father Paul Inch, and late grandfather Chris Inch. Chris was a very successful mini racer back in the 1960's & 1970's winning in many strands of motorsport from the 1275 GT challenge to the the British Autocross championship. Tragedy struck in April 1980 when Chris suffered a heart attack during a qualifying session in the 1275 GT Challenge at Castle Combe.
Following Chris' untimely death, louise's father Paul started racing Mini's throughout the south west region competing in hill climbs, sprints and autocross before progressing to circuit racing in the Mighty Mini Championship, proving once again how the winning formula had been passed down from father to son. Louise being the youngest of Paul's two daughters took a back seat for many years watching and supporting her sister Katie in the junior TKM carting Championships for 3 years notching up several wins and pole positions in the process.
In 2007 louise showed the desire to have a go herself, and started her motorsport career at Werrington Park Hillclimb sharing the car with Father Paul, her progression on this 50sec. hill was spectacular to say the least & throughout the 2 day event. Her first timed run was 13 sec behind Paul but only 3 seconds behind on the last run of the weekend and picking up £1000.00 worth of damage in the process, which only seemed to increase Louise's enjoyment of the weekend, Paul was not of the same opinion but he did see the potential that louise had shown and decided to build a Mighty Mini for her for the 2008 season.
Her 2008 season started at the Silverstone Club track finishing in a lowly 22nd place, dazed and bewildered she did not know whether the experience had been enjoyable or not but with some encouragement from Dad, Louise agreed to enter the next event, a double header at Snetterton .The old adage of you make some good contacts in motorsport was particularly true in louise's case as it was said that during her first season she hit most of her fellow competitors on the grid and several of them more than once. As we all know there is a steep learning curve in motorsport and louise proved to be a fast learner with the normal pit lane banter soon starting and her car being nicknamed the 'Starship Enterprise' having gone were no man had gone before but she soon gained the respect of the other drivers finally finishing the last race of the season at Donington, qualifing in 4th position and finishing in 8th position, this race proved to be the turning point in Louise's racing career and from this point onwards the improvement in her confidence and driving ability was rapid. Louise finally finished in 21st position in the 2008 Champoinship and 2nd novice & lady driver. This was the catalyst for a car rebuild and full attack on the 2009 season.
A new car was built for the season and Louise decided to spray the car in the same pink and black livery that her Grandfather had used back in the 1960's and has been a big hit from the start with the spectators. The first round of the championship was at Cadwell Park, Louise qualified in 4th position and finishing the race 3rd which proved to be the the way the season was to unfold. Next came Sneterton were she lead a race for the first time after qualifying on pole position only to be knocked of the track whilst leading with one lap to go. As this was a double race event louise had to start the second race right at the back in 28th position batting through the field to finish in a excellent 5th place. The rest of the season proved to be just as good, never finishing out of the top 6 and completing a very creditable 3rd position in the overall Mighty Mini championship.
This brings us to the current 2010 season which started with a 7th position following a troubled meeting at Cadwell Park including a complete engine change in the 3 hours between practice and race. Louise' first win came in the next event at Croft closely followed by a win and a 2nd at Castle Combe circuit were she was awarded the 'Driver of the day' by the race director, a trophy that her father had won 8 years previously.
